Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 24 through December 1, 2022

Assault / Obstructing the Administration of Law / Warrant Arrest – On Friday, November 25, 2022, at 6:40 p.m., officers responded to Lacey Liquors for a report of an assault.  Upon their arrival, officers met with a store employee who advised that he was punched in the face by a customer, who left the area.  Officers were initially unable to locate the suspect.  A short time later, the suspect returned to the store, prompting the victim to contact this agency again.  Upon their arrival, officers attempted to speak with the suspect, but he ran from them.  Officers caught up with the suspect, Matthew Banks, 32, of Bayville, and placed him under arrest.  Matthew was also found to a warrant originating out of the Berkeley Township Municipal Court.  Matthew was transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with Simple Assault, Obstruction, and Refusal to Submit to Fingerprinting.  Matthew was served with his copy of the warrant and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility, where he was lodged.

Warrant Arrest – On Friday, November 25, 2022, at 8:41 p.m., Officer Ravallo responded to police headquarters to take a subject into custody who had turned themselves in on an active warrant.  Upon his arrival, Officer Ravallo met with Jason Becker, 42, of Forked River.  Jason was found to have an active warrant originating out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office.  Jason was placed under arrest and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility, where he was lodged.

Fire – On Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 5:44 p.m., Officer Primavera responded to a Nautilus Boulevard residence for a report of a fire inside of the home.  Members from the Forked River Fire Department also responded to the scene.  Officer Primavera met with the homeowner, who advised him that their oven range hood had caught fire a short time earlier.  The fire had been extinguished prior to officer’s arrival.  The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office responded and determined the fire was not suspicious in nature.

Theft – On Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 10:47 p.m., officers responded to a South Street residence for a report of a patron who had not paid their taxi fare.  Upon their arrival, officers met with the complainant, who advised he had driven a female from Monmouth County to South Street.  When the taxi arrived at the destination, the suspect exited the car and advised the driver that she needed to run inside a nearby home to collect the fare money from her boyfriend.  Once 20 minutes had elapsed, and the female did not return, the driver contacted this agency.  The unpaid fare was valued at $126.00.

Motor Vehicle Stop / Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 1:37 a.m., Officer Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Manchester Avenue near Lacey Road for speeding and failure to observe traffic signal.  Officer Keefe met with the driver, Anthony Krempel, 35, of Barnegat.  Anthony was found to have an outstanding warrant originating out of the East Orange Municipal Court.  Anthony was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters.  Anthony was issued a motor vehicle summons for speeding, failure to observe traffic signal, and unclear plates, and released on his own recognizance pending future court appearances.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 17 through November 24, 2022

Assist Other Agency / Warrant Arrest – On Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 7:44 p.m., Officers responded to a Seabright Road residence at the request of the Stafford Township Police Department to serve an arrest warrant.  Upon their arrival, Officers met with the wanted person, Joseph Calafiore, 24, of Forked River.  Joseph was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was turned over to the Stafford Township Police Department, without incident.

DWI – On Monday, November 21, 2022, at 2:52 a.m., Officer Watkins responded to the intersection of Deerhead Lake Drive and Llewellyn Parkway for a report of a suspicious vehicle that was stopped at the stop sign while honking its horn intermittently.  Upon his arrival, Officer Watkins located the vehicle and made contact with its driver, Jared Kolodziejczyk, 42, of Forked River.  Investigation at the scene revealed that Jared was driving while intoxicated, and he was placed under arrest.  Jared was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving before being released in accordance with John’s Law.  Jared was later charged with Possession, Use or Being Under the Influence of CDS, and served with a criminal summons.

Theft – On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 12:14 p.m., Officer Tamburro responded to Little Italy Pizza for a report of theft of cooking oil.  The complainant advised Officer Tamburro that they recently discovered that the lock on top of the used cooking oil storage container had been cut off, and the used cooking oil inside had been stolen.  The stolen cooking oil is valued in excess of $500.00.  This investigation is ongoing.

Shoplifting / Hindering Apprehension / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 5:34 p.m., officers responded to the Home Depot for a report of shoplifting.  The store employee advised officers that they had observed two males attempt to leave the store without paying for a power washer, valued at $700.00.   Officers met with the suspects, Daniel Meadows, 39, and Michael Osipow, 45, both of Neptune, and placed them under arrest.  Michael was found to have warrants originating out of the Ocean County and Monmouth County Sheriff’s Offices.  Michael was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.  Both Daniel and Michael were transported to police headquarters where they were processed.  Daniel was charged with Shoplifting on a warrant.  Michael was charged with Shoplifting, Hindering Apprehension, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on a warrant.  Both were transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility, where they were lodged pending future court appearances.

DWI / Motor Vehicle Crash – On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 7:36 p.m., Officer Watkins responded to the area of Lakeside Drive South and Parker Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle crash.  Investigation at the scene revealed that one of the drivers, Brandi Rouse, 29, of Forked River, was driving while intoxicated.  Brandi was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters.  Brandi was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 10 through November 17, 2022

Shoplifting – On Thursday, November 10, 2022, Officer Biel responded to Kohls for a report of shoplifting.  Upon his arrival, a store employee advised that on Wednesday, November 9, three unknown males entered the store and walked to the jewelry department.  One of the males distracted the store associate in the jewelry department, while the other two reached over the counter and removed numerous pieces of jewelry from the display case.  The suspects then left the store with the jewelry, which was valued in excess of $8,000.00.  The suspects were seen leaving the area in a red SUV.  This investigation is ongoing.

Shoplifting / Warrant Arrest – On Friday, November 11, 2022, at 2:01 p.m., Officer Lee responded to Walmart for a report of shoplifting.  The store employee advised Officer Lee that they had observed two females attempt to leave the store without paying for $136.00 worth of merchandise.  Officer Lee met with the suspects, Eileen Martinez, 55, and Gabrielle Deangelo, 27, both of Browns Mills, and placed them under arrest.  Both Eileen and Gabrielle were processed at police headquarters and charged with Shoplifting.  Gabrielle was also found to have an outstanding warrant originating out of the Manchester Township Municipal Court.  Gabrielle was able to post bail, and both she and Eileen were released on summonses pending future court appearances.

Criminal Mischief – On Monday, November 14, 2022, at 1:00 a.m., while conducting a check of Huffy Wallis Park, Officer Watkins discovered graffiti on the storage shed.  The value of damage was estimated at $50.00.

Theft – On Monday, November 14, 2022, at 1:11 p.m., Officer Nilon responded to police headquarters to speak with a Laurel Boulevard resident who wished to report a theft.  Upon Officer Nilon’s arrival, the complainant advised him that two blue Adirondack chairs had been stolen from his backyard deck sometime between November 11 and November 13.  The chairs were valued at $1,600.00.

Motor Vehicle Stop / Warrant Arrest – On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 12:21 a.m., Officer Keefe conducted a motor vehicle stop on Haines Street near Maxim Drive for suspended driver.   Officer Keefe met with the driver, Gerard Heany, 45, of Toms River, and confirmed that his driver’s license was suspended.  Gerard was also found to have outstanding warrants originating out of the Berkeley Township and North Hanover Municipal Courts.  Gerard was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters.  Gerard was issued a motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended and released on his own recognizance pending future court appearances.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – November 3 through November 10, 2022

Criminal Mischief – On Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 12:40 p.m., Officer Nilon responded to the Forked River State Marina for a report of criminal mischief.  The complaint advised Officer Nilon that it appeared as if someone had attempted to break into his dock box sometime within the previous week, causing damage to the lock.  This investigation is ongoing.

DWI – On Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2:52 p.m., officers responded to the Lacey Liquors parking lot, Route 9, for a report of an intoxicated male whose vehicle had a flat tire.  Upon arrival, officers met with the driver, James Moriarty, 63, of Forked River.  Investigation at the scene revealed that James was driving while intoxicated.  James was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed.  James was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Unregistered Vehicle, and Open Container in a Motor Vehicle and released in accordance with John’s Law.

DWI / Motor Vehicle Crash – On Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:03 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of East Lacey Road for a report of a vehicle that had struck a fire hydrant.  Upon arrival, officers met with the driver, Jake Manino, 19, of Forked River.  Investigation at the scene revealed that Jake was driving while intoxicated, and had struck a fire hydrant on the side of the road.  Jake was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed.  Jake was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Open Container in a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Wear Seatbelt and released in accordance with John’s Law.  The Lacey Township MUA responded to the scene to secure and repair the damaged hydrant.

Disorderly Conduct – On Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 10:16 a.m., officers responded to the Walmart parking lot for a report of a fight.  Upon their arrival, officers met with the involved parties, including Alexander McStravick, 53, of Forked River.  Investigation at the scene revealed that Alexander became involved in a dispute with another person over a parking spot.  Due to his behavior, Alexander was issued a special complaint for Disorderly Conduct.

DWI – On Monday, November 7, 2022, at 5:17 a.m., officers responded to the Lacey Liquors parking lot, Route 9, for a report of a vehicle in the parking lot playing loud music.  Upon arrival, officers met with the driver, Dwayne Anderson, 39, of Little Egg Harbor.  Investigation at the scene revealed that Dwayne was driving while intoxicated.  Dwayne was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed.  Dwayne was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Open Container in a Motor Vehicle and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Weekly Police Blotter – Lacey Township Police Department – October 27 through November 3, 2022

DWI – On Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 7:19 p.m., officers responded to the Wawa parking lot, Lacey Road, for a report of an intoxicated driver.  Upon arrival, officers met with the driver, Brian Terranova, 47, of Lanoka Harbor.  Investigation at the scene revealed that Brian was driving while intoxicated.  Brian was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed.  Brian was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving, and released in accordance with John’s Law.

DWI – On Friday, October 28, 2022, at 1:21 a.m., Officer Tamburro conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 for speeding.  Officer Keefe responded to assist.  Officers met with the driver, Sean Dupnak, 52, of Forked River.  Investigation at the scene revealed that Sean was driving while intoxicated.  Sean was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed.  Sean was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Speeding, and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Shoplifting – On Friday, October 28, 2022, at 1:33 p.m., Officer Holt responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting that took place the previous day.  Officer Holt was advised that on Thursday, October 27, at approximately 10:30 p.m., an unidentified female attempted to leave the store without paying for nearly $1,500.00 of merchandise.  The female was stopped by an employee as she was exiting the store, and the merchandise was recovered.  The female then left the area in a Chevrolet sedan, white in color.  The suspect has yet to be identified.

Shoplifting – On Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:09 a.m., officers responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting.  The store employee advised officers that they had observed a male and female attempt to leave the store without paying for $99.31 worth of merchandise.  Officers met with the suspects, Joseph Esposito, 52, and Geraldine Elbassiouni, 54, both of Bayville, and placed them under arrest.  Both Joseph and Geraldine were transported to police headquarters and charged with Shoplifting.  Geraldine was released on a summons pending a future court appearance.  Joseph was charged on a warrant and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility, without incident.

Shoplifting – On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 11:22 a.m., Officers Hutman and Abrecht responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting.  The store employee advised officers that they had observed a female attempt to leave the store without paying for $152.91 worth of merchandise.  Officers met with the suspect, Nancy Sabia, 59, of Forked River, and placed her under arrest.  Nancy was transported to police headquarters, charged with Shoplifting, and released on a summons pending a future court appearance.
