Team Award of Valor – On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, Lacey Police Officers Anthony Sarno and Christopher Meyler, along with Forked River Firefighters Robert Anderson and Edward Barker, Jr., were recognized by the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, Pa, during their Awards of Valor Event. All four of these gentlemen attended the event in Philadelphia where they received the Team Award of Valor as a result of saving an elderly woman from a residential structure fire on the 1800 block of Serpentine Drive in Forked River, during the early morning hours of November 25, 2016. All four of these men will have their photographs, along with a description of the life-saving event, posted in a section of the museum. Additionally, these four men were honored earlier this year by the 200 Club of Ocean County.
