Long-Time Resident and Emergency Services Volunteer Robert “Bobby” Frandsen Passes Away At Age 64.

It is with deep regret that I announce the passing of long time resident and Emergency Services Volunteer, Robert “Bobby” Frandsen. Robert “Bobby” Frandsen passed away on Saturday, February 4th 2017, at his home in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Bobby was a life-long resident of Forked River (Lacey Township) until his recent move to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with his wife, Marlene (Marlene was employed as a Police Dispatcher for the Lacey Township Police Department for 28 Years).  Bobby dedicated his life to various emergency services in Ocean County, holding numerous offices within.  Bobby was a life member of the Forked River Fire Department, the Lacey Township First Aid Squad and the Lanoka Harbor EMS.  In addition, Bobby served as an Ocean County EMS Coordinator (Car 23) and was also a volunteer member of the Lacey Township Underwater Rescue and Recovery.

Furthermore, Bobby was an Assistant Fire Warden for the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service and worked as a Special Police Officer for the Lacey Township Police Department in the late 1970s. Bobby was a Past President with the Ocean County EMS Captains Association, a Past President and Southern Mobilization Coordinator for the NJ State First Aid Council. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Elks.

The family described Bobby as a true gentleman, who was dedicated to his family and friends. They stated he would always share a smile and a joke with you when he saw you. They further stated that Bobby enjoyed spending time at the beach or golf course with his wife Marlene, which was one of his favorite past times.

Services will be held at Riggs Funeral Home, located at 130 North Main Street (Route 9) in Forked River, NJ. The Viewing will be held on Friday, February 10th, 2017, from 2pm to 4pm and again from 7pm to 9pm, with a Fireman’s Service at 8:45pm.  An additional Viewing will be held Saturday morning, February 11th, 2017, from 9:30am to 11am.  Funeral services will begin at 11am with the burial following at Good Luck Cemetery, located at 5000 Haines Street East in Lanoka Harbor, NJ.
