DiBella, Captain Patrick Ganley, Detective Alan Abrecht, and Officer George Resetar, with members of the Old Guard of Forked River and the Lacey Township American Legion during the No-Shave November presentation held last evening, November 10, 2016, at the Township meeting. Both the Old Guard and American Legion made donations to the No-Shave November event on behalf of the Lacey Township Police Department.

On the evening of Thursday, November 10, 2016, at 7:00 p.m.,  members of the Lacey Township Police Department who are participating in the No-Shave November program attended the Township meeting. The Old Guard of Forked River donated a check in the amount of $500 to No-Shave November on behalf of the Lacey Township Police Department, while members of the Lacey Township American Legion donated a check in the amount of $250 “I want to personally thank the members of these organizations for their gratitude and support.”

As of November 10, 2016 (just prior to the Township meeting) the No-Shave November “Lacey Township Challenge” had received total donations in the amount of $4600. “We are not even half-way through the month of November and with the inclusion of the above two donations we have already surpassed our overall goal of $5000 to fight cancer.” I am extremely honored by the amount of support we have received from our community.

On November 1st, 2016, the Lacey Township Police Officers, along with members from the Forked River, Lanoka Harbor, and Bamber Lakes Fire Departments, the Lacey Township and Lanoka Harbor EMS Squads, and members from the Lacey Township Dive Team, began participating in “No Shave November” to raise awareness and funding for cancer charities.  The initiative will conclude on November 30th, 2016.

No-Shave November is a fundraiser in which people put down their razor in order to raise awareness and funding for cancer charities. This month residents in Lacey Township will find some of their police officers and emergency services personnel to be on the “hairy side.” For example, you may see uniformed police officers sporting beards and mustaches, all in the name of fighting cancer. Funds raised by the “Lacey Township Challenge”  (Lacey Police and Emergency Services) will go to charities including, the American Cancer Society, Prevent Cancer Foundation, Fight Colorectal Cancer, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Donations on behalf of the police officers and the Emergency Services personnel should be made directly to No-Shave.org under the Lacey Township Challenge (see the below links).

“I need to once again thank everyone for their continued dedication and support.”

On the evening of November 1st, 2016, representatives from each agency took a before photograph outside the Lacey Township Municipal Building.  On December 1st, 2016, participating representatives will meet for an after-photo.
