Courtesy Child Seat Safety Inspections (Saturday, June 6, 2015) – The Lacey Township Police Department, with the assistance of members of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and the Manchester Township Police Department, conducted courtesy child seat safety inspections for dozens of parents, grandparents, and caregivers. The event was held between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department building on Route 9 in Lanoka Harbor. Each inspection took approximately 20 minutes to complete. Participants were provided information on the proper installation and use of child seats by specially trained and certified child seat technicians.

While the event was held to raise awareness and serve as a convenient method for residents to have their child seats inspected, the Lacey Township Police Department offers the service to residents throughout the year. Any resident interested in having a specially trained car seat technician from the Lacey Township Police Department conduct a thorough inspection at police headquarters may contact Lieutenant Michael DiBella at 609-693-6636 x2567 or via email at MDiBella@LaceyTownship.org. The inspection can generally be completed in approximately 15 to 20 minutes and involves informative instruction on the proper installation and use of the child seat.       – Chief David A.
