  • Shoplifting– On Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 12:29 p.m., Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to the Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a an adult female shoplifter. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 59-year-old Michele T. Boyle of First Street in Barnegat, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $43.16. She was transported to police headquarters and processed.  Michele T. Boyle was released after receiving a criminal summons for shoplifting.
  • Theft from a PersonOn Monday, October 3, 2016 at 4:25 p.m. Officer Michael Baldasari responded to the area of Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor to take a report of theft.  The victim reported that on October 2, 2016, he was at the bus stop on Route 9 North near the Lacey Mall (Shop Rite) when he fell asleep. When he woke up he realized that someone removed his wallet from his pocket along with his medications. The wallet contained $12.00 in cash along with several identification documents. The incident is under investigation.
  • Fraud– On Monday, October 3, 2016 at 3:09 p.m., Officer Michael Hein responded to police headquarters to take a report of fraud.  The victim, a Forked River resident, reported that she befriended a man on Facebook with the name of “Tyler Nunes.”  After several weeks of corresponding with him on Facebook she was told by him that he was currently on a ship in Syria. He then requested she send him money so he could purchase a computer to communicate with his daughter. The victim sent the requested funds for the purchase of the computer.  The victim stated that she was then asked for additional money to help him, which she sent. After a period of time of being asked for additional money, the victim realized she might have been scammed and stopped sending him money. In total the victim was defrauded in excess of $36,000.00 in Money Grams and wire transfers. The incident is under investigation.
  • Shoplifting – On Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 2:37 p.m., Officer Darrell Nick responded to Kohl’s, located at 304 Route 9 North in Forked River, for a report of an adult male shoplifter. Investigation at the scene revealed that 29-year-old Scott A. Montefusco of Grand Central Parkway in Bayville, NJ, shoplifted a sweater valued at $98.00, and upon being confronted by the Asset Protection employee, fled the scene. The merchandise was recovered, however, Scott A. Montefusco was not located. He was charged with Shoplifting and a warrant was issued in the amount of $1,500.00 for his arrest.
  • Drug Arrest – On Saturday, October 1st, 2016, at 12:47 p.m., Officer Brian Holt responded to Huffy Wallis Park, located at 1740 Parkside Drive in Forked River, for a suspicious vehicle. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, a 17-year-old female juvenile from Lanoka Harbor, NJ, for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. The female juvenile was in possession of 11 individually wrapped bags of marijuana packaged for sales, along with a digital scale and assorted drug paraphernalia. Narcotics Detective Brian Flynn responded to assist in the investigation. The female juvenile was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was released to a parent after being criminally charged on juvenile complaints with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition she received traffic summonses for Driving without a License, and for Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle she was operating was impounded for being utilized during the commission of a crime.
  • Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 8:17 a.m., Officer Evan Androcy responded to the 200 block of Station Drive in Forked River, for a report of a burglary. Investigation at the scene revealed that the victim was a subcontractor who was hired to renovate a vacant house. The victim reported that between 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, and the morning of Saturday, October 1, 2016, an unknown person or persons entered the residence and stole numerous power tools belonging to him.  There was no sign of forced entry. The total theft is valued at $2,272.94.
  • Drug Arrest – On Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 1:51 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 North near Game Farm Road in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 18-year-old Michael S. Johnson of Randolph Place in Forked River, for Possession of CDS. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Michael Johnson was released after receiving criminal summonses for Possession of Marijuana 50 Grams or Less and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, he received traffic summonses for Tinted Windows, CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and a Passenger Restriction Violation (Probationary License).
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 30, 2016, at 8:49 p.m., Officer Anthony Sarno responded to Parker Street in Forked River, to serve two (2) arrest warrants. Upon arrival, Officer Sarno arrested 28-year-old April Isdanavich on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of 500.00 and an Ocean County Sheriff’s Department no-bail probation warrant. April Isdanavich was transported to police headquarters and processed. She was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility in default of bail.
  • Shoplifting Arrest – On Friday, September 30, 2016, at 8:27 p.m., Officer Scott Keefe responded to Walmart, located at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor, for a report of an adult male shoplifter.  Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 35-year-old Frank Pezzuti, 3rd of Michigan Avenue in Waretown, NJ, for shoplifting merchandise valued at $49.83. He was transported to police headquarters and processed.  Frank Pezzuti was released after receiving a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
  • Traffic Accident (Pedestrian) – On Friday, September 30, 2016, at 10:23 p.m. Officers Christopher Meyler and Michael Verwey responded to the intersection of Route 9 and Lakeside Drive South in Forked River, for a pedestrian struck. Preliminary investigation revealed a male pedestrian; 42-year-old Gabriel Vasquez-Valencia of Forked River, was walking across the intersection from the northbound side of Route 9 and was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound. The driver of the vehicle, Nancy Gorczyca of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, did not sustain any injuries. Gabriel Vasquez-Valencia was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, for treatment of his injuries. The Lacey Township Police Accident Investigation Unit along with members from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the accident.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Friday, September 30, 2016, at 1:49 a.m., Officer Anthony Sarno conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Vaughn Avenue in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Alexandro G. Tsarnas of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, on an outstanding Lacey Township Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $250.00. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. Alexandro Tsarnas was released after posting full bail.
