  • Burglary and Theft (Residence) – On Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at 6:54 p.m., Officer Androcy responded to the 300 block of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River for a burglary of a residence. Upon their arrival, the homeowners stated they saw water pouring out of their garage area and discovered that copper piping, an outside air conditioning unit, two televisions, two recliners, two ottomans, and other smaller furniture had been stolen from the residence. The stolen property is estimated at $5,000. Entry was gained through a window on the ground floor level of the residence between Saturday, November 9, 2013, and Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Detective Samuel Della Sala responded to the scene and is investigation.
  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at 8:14 a.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of Barramore Avenue in Lanoka Harbor for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that between 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, and 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, an unknown person or persons smashed the front driver’s side window of his vehicle that was parked at the residence. The complainant reported that nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle. Damaged is estimated at $200.
  • Possession of Hypodermic Syringes (Arrest) – On Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 11:27 p.m., Officer Evan Androcy and Special Officer Travis Horton responded to the Walmart parking lot, 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor for a report of three suspicious males in a vehicle. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 24-year-old John Joiner, Bay Boulevard in Bayville, for possession of three (3) hypodermic syringes. John Joiner was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released on a criminal summons.
  • DUI (Arrest) – On Friday, November 15, 2013, at 12:10 a.m., Officer Dimitri Tsarnas conducted a traffic stop on Route 9 near Beach Boulevard. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver, 29-year-old Ryan Murray of Raider Way in Toms River. The owner of the vehicle and front seat passenger, 29-year-old Christopher Slonieski of Ryan Run in Toms River was also arrested and charged with allowing an intoxicated driver to operate the vehicle. Both subjects were transported to headquarters where they were processed and released on traffic summonses. Ryan Murray was issued summonses for DUI, Reckless Driving, as well as Failure to Maintain Lane. Christopher Slonieski was issued a summons for allowing an intoxicated driver to operate a vehicle. The vehicle Ryan Murray was operating was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
  • Underage Possession/Consumption of Alcohol (Arrests) – On Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 3:00 a.m., Officers Julie Barcalow and Michael Eden responded to the 1200 block of Koa Drive in Forked River for a report of suspicious subjects on a vacant lot. Upon arrival, the officers observed several subjects on the property. Further investigation determined that they were in possession of alcohol under age. 20-year-old Jonathan Beibide of Willow Lane in Garwood, New Jersey was issued a Complaint-Summons for Underage Consumption of Alcohol. 19-year-old Kyle Colon of Walnut Street in Beachwood was issued a Complaint-Summons for Underage Possession of Alcohol. Three other juveniles were also taken into custody and turned over to their parents. The three juveniles, a 16-year-old female, a 15-year-old female, and a 14-year-old male, all from Forked River, were charged on juvenile complaints with Underage Consumption of Alcohol.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 5:00 a.m. Officer Robert Flynn responded to the 300 block of Sunrise Boulevard in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that around 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet containing several identification cards and personal documents with a total value of $25.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 7:47 p.m., Officer Robert Flynn responded to the 200 block of Conifer Drive in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that during the overnight hours between Friday, November 15, 2013, and Saturday, November 16, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway and stole loose change. No other items were reported missing.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 2:46 a.m., Officer Robert Flynn responded to the 300 block of Shady Brook Lane in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, and 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered her vehicle and stole her purse. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of the residence. The stolen purse contained a wallet, debit card, and various other personal items. Upon checking the area, the purse was discovered near the wooded area on the corner of Shady Brook Lane and Annapolis Lane in Forked River.
  • Warrant Arrest – On Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 12:20 p.m., Officers Adam Ewart and Dan Ricciardella observed 47-year-old Robert Burns, 3rd in the area of Merrimac Road and Independence Drive in Forked River. The officers were aware that Robert Burns 3rd had several outstanding warrants for his arrest, including an Ocean County Sheriff’s Department child support warrant in the amount of $47,419. Robert Burns, 3rd was arrested on the Sheriff’s Department warrant, along with two (2) separate Atlantic City warrants – one for $500 and the second for $60. Robert Burns, 3rd was transported to the Ocean County Jail in default of his bail.
  • Criminal Mischief (Residence) – On Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 1:31 p.m., Officer Keith Pearce responded to the 1400 block of Earie Way in Forked River for a criminal mischief report. The complainant reported that between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., on Friday, November 15, 2013, an unknown person or persons broke a mailbox. Damage is estimated at $25.
  • Burglary and Theft (Boat) – On Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 1:37 p.m., Special Officer Russell Moller responded to Southwinds Condominiums, 361 block of East Lacey Road in Forked River, in reference to a theft from a boat. The complainant reported that two (2) “Lee” 6D marine batteries were stolen from his 41-foot Silverton boat Monday, November 11, 2013, and Sunday, November 17, 2013 as it was docked in a boat slip behind the condominiums. The New Jersey State Police Marine Division is also investigating the incident. The theft is estimated at $1000.
  • Criminal Mischief (Auto) – On Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 2:22 p.m., Officers Scott Keefe and John Simonson responded to the 500 block of Ash Road for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant reported that during the overnight hours of November 16, 2013, an unknown person or persons kicked the driver’s-side fender of her daughter’s vehicle while parked at the residence. Damage is estimated at $200.
  • Burglary and Theft (Boat) – On Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 7:03 p.m., Officer John McKee responded to the 1100 block of Pensacola Road in Forked River for a theft from a boat. The complainant reported that between Wednesday, October 13, 2013, and Sunday, November 17, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered his boat while docked at the Lacey Elks and stole two (2) marine batteries with a total value of $200.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Monday, November 18, 2013, at 10:55 a.m., Officer John Simonson responded to the 300 block of Enterprise Drive in Forked River for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that between 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 and 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered her vehicle and stole her purse. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of the residence and there were no signs of forced entry. The purse contained identification cards and earrings. Total value of the stolen items is estimated at $192.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Monday, November 18, 2013, at 3:45 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the 300 block of Enterprise Drive in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her iPod Nano and Garmin GPS with a total value of $250.
  • Burglary and Theft (Auto) – On Monday, November 18, 2013, at 8:58 p.m., Officer Charles May responded to the 200 block of Nautilus Boulevard in Forked River for a theft report. The complainant reported that between 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, and 6:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013, an unknown person or persons entered both of his unsecured vehicles parked in the driveway and stole $8.00 in cash along with a set of keys valued at $5.00. Total theft $13.00.
  • Theft (Arrest) – On Monday, November 18, 2013, at 10:33 p.m., Officers Robert Flynn and Michael Eden responded to the Walmart at 580 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor regarding a report of acts of theft allegedly committed by a store employee. Upon arrival, Walmart employee, 44-year-old Brian Scardone of Laurel Boulevard in Lanoka Harbor, was arrested and charged with stealing $790 from the cash registers between October 31, 2013 and November 17, 2013. Brian Scardone was processed and later released after receiving a criminal summons.
