Very Small Patch

UPDATE: During the early morning hours of Saturday, August 31, 2013, Officer Dimitri Tsarnas was serving as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) at a DUI checkpoint in Brick Township when he received notification that a vehicle matching the description of a suspect vehicle involved in a series of thefts in Lacey Township was stopped by OCPO and Brick Township officials at the checkpoint. The officers staffing the checkpoint observed air conditioning condensers in the rear seat of the silver, Honda Civic. Further investigation revealed that three condensers were stolen from the Lacey Business Park several hours prior. These thefts were consistent with three other condensers stolen in Lacey over the past week. Lacey Detectives responded to BrickTownship to further the investigation.

The occupants of the vehicle, 20-year-old William McMenamin of Waretown and 21-year-old Daniel Disbro of Waretown, were arrested and transported to Lacey Township Police Headquarters. Further investigation revealed that the suspects were responsible for the thefts earlier in the week in addition to the three thefts just several hours before the traffic stop.

Both suspects were charged with four counts of theft and six counts of criminal mischief. Each was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $75,000 bail. Disbro’s vehicle was seized for being used to further a crime. The combined value of the thefts is estimated at $10,000.

  • Lacey Moose, Route 9, Forked River
  • Joseph Roberts, Inc., Old Shore Road, Forked River
